Project Connect premiered a new show, Welcome to Savoy, for the event, Spring Fling Swing Thing hosted by Dancing Classrooms and National Dance Institute.

"Swing into the Past: A Night at the Savoy" NYC Artists Corps Showcase at Queens Theater
As part of the City Artists Corps Showcase, Project Connect is proudly presenting the excerpts from its new interactive swing dance show called Swing into the Past: A Night at the Savoy!
"Swing into the Past," an interactive dance theater showcases authentic Lindy Hop while educating about the history and the cultural context of the dance. The plot follows two siblings who time travel to Savoy Ballroom in 1939. Through their eyes, the audience experiences the magnificent Savoy Ballroom first hand, witnessing real events at Savoy and learning about the dance and Jazz music. The show will feature high intensity choreographed lindy hop dances with air steps as well as improvised social dancing. The show will be interactive and participatory so that the audience can truly experience the power of Lindy Hop.

"Swing into the Past: A Night At the Savoy" Project Connect Online Fundraiser Event!!
"Swing into the Past: A Night At the Savoy" is an interactive Lindy Hop theater piece for children! It showcases authentic Lindy Hop while educating the young audience about the history and cultural context of the dance.
During the event, you will meet the main cast live, and see the opening scene of the show in which two children, played by Brandon Barker and Yesica, time travel to the magnificent Savoy Ballroom in 1939!! They not only learn about the dance and music but also witness exciting dance performances by Savoy dancers played by Brandon Barker, Carmen Carriker, Sammy Coleman, Sean Vitale, Shana Weaver, and Tawni Michelle!
